Suspect Arrested After Telling Victims He Would Return

"I'll be back." Pitt County lawmen say that's what Michael Wayne Rouse told his sixth robbery victim Wednesday night, that he would be back Thursday for more. Authorities say they were waiting for Rouse at noon when he did indeed come back, and they arrested him.

Rouse faces numerous charges in connection with six robberies Wednesday night at a trailer park on Mills Road near Winterville and a home on Highway 903. Lawmen say Rouse stole almost $3,000 from his victims. He's currently being held at the Pitt County Detention Center.
