Former Kinston High School head football coach Lonnie Baker has been charged with assault on a 30-year old female school employee, sexual battery, and false imprisonment, all misdemeanors. The 58-year-old former coach turned himself into police Thursday.
Police say Baker was charged following a three week investigation that came after a school investigation that led to Baker's resignation. Police wouldn't go into details about the charges, but explained false imprisonment deals with detaining or removing a person from one location to another without their permission or will. Baker was released after being charged.
