Study Shows Pitt County Filled With Dangerous Roads

When it comes to dangerous roads, Pitt County ranks pretty high up there. As a matter of fact, the county is fourth in the entire state according to the North Carolina Traffic Crash facts book for 2003.

Pitt County earned their ranking in two different categories, one of those being for the best chance of being in a collision and for being injured in a collision. Although major accidents were recorded on the main roads of the county, the back roads saw their share as well.

The State Highway Patrol says the back roads are no longer back roads because of development. Currituck County also made the list but on a positive note. They were ranked fourth in the state for the best chance of you not being involved in a collision.
