Dozens of calls have come into the Transylvania County Sheriff's Office about the case of a slain hiker and her missing husband.

Chief Deputy Eddie Gunter says at least 35 people have called and investigators are seeking people who may have seen the Bryants.

Authorities say 84-year-old Irene Bryant was killed by a blow to her head and her 80-year-old husband, John Bryant, is missing and may have been taken by an assailant. The couple's bank card was used to withdraw $300 from their account last month in Ducktown, Tenn.

The Bryants' vehicle was found near a hiking trail in Pisgah National Forest more than three weeks ago. Irene Bryant's body was found nearby after three days of searching.
