A 73-year-old woman was found dead in a pool of blood inside her home around midnight.
The incident happened at her home on Riley Road. Kinston police say the victim, Lula Williams, was last seen alive around 2 p.m. Wednesday afternoon when her son left the house for work. When he returned around midnight, police say he found his mother dead.
An autopsy is being performed. The State Bureau of Investigation is also assisting Kinston police.
