It's a chance for artists, decoy carvers, model boat makers, and many others to show off not only their work but their appreciation for coastal North Carolina.

This weekend, the annual Core Sound Waterfowl Celebration takes place on Harker's Island. There you'll also be able to sample some Down East cooking, as well as many other aspects of coastal life that museum officials say has nearly become forgotten.

The event begins on Friday, December 3 at noon and runs through 5 p.m. Sunday afternoon. For more information, call the Waterfowl Museum at 252-728-1500.
