New Weapons Law

Convicted felons in North Carolina can no longer own weapons of any kind. It's one of the new laws that went into effect Wednesday.

Chief Lee Moore with the Pitt County Sheriff's Department says this law includes pistols, rifles, and any guns used for hunting.

Moore says while this will mean more work for law enforcement officials, it could make the public safer.
