Disgraced former House Speaker Jim Black may be able to meet a December deadline to pay a one million dollar fine or spend more time in prison.
A real estate agent says Black has a buyer for property listed for $950,000 in Matthews.
Real estate agent Don Deason says the deal with an unidentified buyer for an undisclosed price will close next month.
The 72-year-old Black is serving a five-year federal prison sentence for political corruption and a state court judge imposed the fine on similar charges. Black must pay the fine by Dec. 10 or face an additional two years in prison.
