A Washington man has been charged with a rape and kidnapping that happened more than six months ago in Pitt County.
Ferrell Kenlaw is accused of breaking into a home at River Creek Mobile Home Park where the victim and her sister were sleeping.
Deputies say the victim was awakened by the front door being forced open. The victim said her attacker came into her bedroom and put what felt like a gun to her head and raped her.
The 24 year old Kenlaw is charged with first degree burglary, first degree kidnapping, first degree rape and two counts of first degree sexual offense. He's in the Pitt County jail under a two million dollar bond.
Pitt County deputies say Kenlaw's arrest was delayed because investigators were awaiting evidence in the case to be examined and returned.
