Queen Anne's Revenge Artifact Found

Another vital artifact of what researchers believe to be part of the Queen Anne's Revenge was pulled from the bottom of the sea off our coast Thursday.

A nearly three hundred year old, large piece of wood called a stern post was recovered near the Beaufort inlet, twenty five feet below the surface. The artifact weighs over fifteen hundred pounds and is about seven feet in length. It also has letters etched on one part of the artifact that are still visible. Six divers assisted in bringing the artifact up

Friday the artifact will head to the QAR lab in Greenville.
