Family Still Thankful Despite Returning Cancer

When we first brought you the story of 4-year-old Bonnie Claire Shelton of New Bern she was about to celebrate remission from a rare type of cancer that had attacked one of her kidney's. She was given a trip to Disneyworld thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. But after returning from that trip Bonnie's parents got the news their daughter's cancer had returned, and this time in her lungs. Doctors say Bonnie has 20 more weeks of chemotherapy left, and her radiation treatments ended just before Thanksgiving. Even with all the trials this family says they still have a lot to be thankful for, including the researchers who make her treatment possible. Doctors say even though there's not an exact prognosis right now in Bonnie's case, they are hopeful for a positive outcome because of the type of technology available today.
