Child Dragged to Death

Washington County lawmen say a six-year-old boy was hit by a car and dragged 20 feet to his death. Plymouth Police say they've also made an arrest in the case.

It happened Friday on Wilson Street in Plymouth. The boy, Semaj Flood, was from the Bertie County town of Windsor. The Plymouth Police department says Flood died as a result of the injuries he suffered when he was hit by the car and then dragged.

Officials say 18-year-old Tamara Farris of Plymouth was driving the car and is now facing several charges, including misdemeanor death by motor vehicle.

Flood's funeral is scheduled for Friday. Farris is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.
