It's National Pet Wellness Month and veterinarians are urging pet owners to schedule their furry friends a checkup.

It's recommended by veterinarians to get your pet checked out twice a year. Vets say one reason for this is animals age faster than humans. Cats and dogs are considered middle age by the time they're four-years-old. A veterinarian we talked to points out early detection can help them spot, and in most cases, treat health problems such as cancer, arthritis, and heart disease.
