Police Charge 13 At Chapel Hill Halloween Party

Police say they charged 13 people during a Halloween street party that drew about 82,000 revelers to Chapel Hill's downtown.

Charges ranged from assault to disorderly conduct and resisting
police officers.

Emergency crews had 31 calls and officials say 21 involved intoxication with eight people taken to the hospital for treatment.

Police say the annual party was milder than last year when 27 people were arrested and 18 required hospital treatment.

Congrats that it was better than last year. I think. If this happens every year why is it being allowed to happen in the first place? Security has never been increased? I do not see why they are arrested if precautions are not made in the first place. It sounds like and easy way to get police quotas up before the end of the month. State aid must be held in the balance of how rowdy this party gets. I thinks its pitiful any way you look at it.
