Protecting From The Flu

Thousands of people who don't want to catch the flu bug this year are taking extra precaution by getting a flu vaccine. There were long lines outside of the Pitt County Cooperative Extension building Monday on the first day vaccines were given. Only those at high risk for getting the flu are eligible. Some of the top high risk groups include the elderly, young children, pregnant women, and people who are home health care workers. Health officials say even healthy people who are not eligible to get vaccinated can reduce their chances of catching the flu by following proper hygiene.
