Cop, Ex-Wife Indicted For Ahoskie Man's Disappearance

Court officials say a grand jury in Hertford County has indicted a Kitty Hawk police officer and the ex-wife of Brad Smithwick in connection with his kidnapping earlier this month.

Raymond Jedele was indicted for kidnapping, while the grand jury indicted Janet Harrell on being an accessory after the fact.

Smithwick's body was discovered October 9 in a wooded area near the Edenton airport. Police say five days earlier he had been kidnapped from his Ahoskie home as he was leaving for work.

So far no one has been charged with in connection with Smithwick's death.

    I agree with you all. It seems day after day passes with no new justice. You look each day, as silence fills the case and your heart when no new charges are filed. Such a sad situation that can never be reversed, and there seems to be no movement on this case for the victims...

    i understand the kidnapping charges but what about the murder charges common sense they kidnapped him she was involved where is the MURDER charge

    I am so glad to hear they were formally indicted, now we sit and wait for the REAL charges to be filed...wheres the PREMEDITATED MURDER charge??
