Toys for Tots Drive

The sound of Christmas carols filled the air at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point Wednesday.

That's because Wednesday marked the start of the Marine Corps Toys for Tots campaign. The Toys for Tots program collects new, unwrapped toys and distributes them to children in Eastern Carolina communities for Christmas. Organizers say 42,000 toys were collected and distributed last year to 21,000 children in the area. This year the goal is to collect 50,000 toys.

You can help the campaign by donating a new, unwrapped toy at drop off locations around Eastern Carolina. And as always, WITN will be an official drop off site.
