Students Shocked Over Shooting

The Tuesday morning shooting of an ECU student sent shock waves throughout the student body.

We spoke with students who say they're both saddened and shocked by the news. One student said she is friends with the victim, Drew Daly, and the shooting is so devastating because Daly is known to be easy-going and kind.

Police announced plans Wednesday to step up patrols throughout the areas surrounding East Carolina University.

Officials say Daly is expected to make a full recovery.

Its a real shame it takes a shooting to get our law enforcement active in serving and protecting. If you pay attention, you'll see officers sitting and chatting or in restraunts, when we have shootings, drunk drivers, rapers, and all these other crimes. Maybe WITN7 should be out tapeing our fine law enforcement, so the public can see first hand what we're really paying them to do.
