The 18th Annual North Carolina Seafood Festival kicks off this Friday and so do the carnival rides. Carnival officials are already hard at work making sure the rides are safe and as enjoyable as possible.
Carnival officials say North Carolina has strict safety laws when it comes to park rides. Officials say the state Department of Labor inspects each ride every time it is moved and reassembled. Every part of the ride including safety belts, bars, and seats must work properly to receive a certified sticker for safety.
