North Carolina Tree Headed To White House

White House staffers will be in North Carolina tomorrow, looking for the perfect Christmas tree to adorn the Blue Room.

An Alleghany County tree farm won the honor by being names Grand Champion Growers at the National Christmas Tree Association last year.

Mistletoe Meadows is in Laurel Springs. The tree will be selected tomorrow and then cut in late November and transported to Washington, D.C.

This marks the 10th time since 1966 that a North Carolina Christmas tree will be displayed at the White House during the holidays.

My family goes back to the 1800s in Laurel Springs, and whomever is in the White House, I am proud that a Laurel Springs tree will be there this Christmas. But Please note, editors, the spelling - that's Alleghany County.
Editor's Note: Thanks for the typo alert. It's been corrected.
