New Bern police are warning folks of a new scam showing up in newspapers across the country.
It looks like an employment classified ad, but its not. Once you call the number and provide the operator with an address, you receive numerous fraudulent travelers checks.
The victim is instructed to cash the check and keep ten percent and send the rest to locations around the world.
If you have been a victim of this type of scam or have any questions you can contact your local law enforcement agency.
