Fisherman Rescued In Pamlico Sound

A fisherman, injured this morning on a shrimp trawler in the Pamlico Sound, was rescued by the Coast Guard and Marine Corps.

It happened aboard the 67-foot fishing vessel Captain Alex which was near Swan Quarter. The Coast Guard says the 47 year old man suffered head injures when he was hit by a shrimp net.

A Coast Guard boat crew from Hatteras Inlet and a Pedro helicopter from Cherry Point rescued the crewmember.

The fisherman was taken to Carteret County General Hospital, but there's no word on his condition.

You tell the name of the boat, and age of the man....Who is the man?
Editor's note: The Coast Guard would not release that information to us.
