Home Sought For Mentally Retarded man Whose Murder Charge Was Dropped

Lawyers for a mentally retarded man whose murder charge was dismissed after 14 years without a trial say they're still trying to find a group home where he could live.

A home in Rockingham had agreed to take 43-year-old Floyd Brown
of Wadesboro. But defense lawyer Mike Klinkosum says the home
backed out of the agreement after a visit from the district attorney.

In the meantime, Brown remains in Dorothea Dix state mental hospital in Raleigh where he has been since 1993.
