Camp Lejeune is home to American heroes every day, and this week it's also playing host to some other heroes who are saying thanks to the Marines, sailors and their families at the Jacksonville base.
Stars from entertainment, sports and politics are playing golf at the first Marine Corps Celebrity Invitational. The four-day event got an extra day on the links for Marines paired with some of those celebrities Wednesday. The idea was to get military men and women up close and personal with big-time heroes like former San Francisco 49er Dwight Clark, who says his tour buddies are already impressed with the folks they've met here.
All the proceeds from this week's events will go back to help troops.
