Two Face Charges For Forcing NC Teen Into Prositution

A man and a woman face sentencing after being convicted of forcing a North Carolina teen into prostitution and posting provocative photos of her on the Internet bulletin board Craigslist.

Carlton Simons of Queens, New York, and Shernett Reevey of
Charlotte were convicted by a jury of second-degree promoting
prostitution and third-degree promoting prostitution. The verdict
came at the end of a seven-day trial.

Reevey's attorney says she plans to appeal. Authorities say Simons was a pimp and Reevey was his accomplice. Prosecutors say the two lured the young woman from her home in North Carolina in January 2006 with "promises of the easy life and introducing her to rap celebrities."

Instead, prosecutors say the woman was assaulted, threatened
with death and put to work in the sex trade.

Prosecutors also say the woman worked strip clubs in North
Carolina. They say she avoided jail time by becoming a witness in
the case.

I initially thought the same thing, but, the upon a closer look, the story just says "teen". A person of legal age could be 18 or 19, this is still considered "teen" even though they are of legal age. Just my thoughts on the matter

This is a interesting story but something is missing in it. If she's a teenager (what age)where were the parent(s)? No missing person report...I feel sorry for the victim.
