Fall Fire Season Can Ignite Lots of Problems

Fire experts from the North Carolina Forestry Service say the change in weather lowers the humidity level, drying out vegetation a lot faster than in the Summer heat. From now until the end of November, they expect to see wild brush fire activity pick up.

Regional Ranger David Steele says most fires come from carelessness. Steele says Southern counties like Brunswick and even Onslow are more prone to Fall brush fires compared to others on the coast.
