Crashed Pilot Recovering

The pilot of a crashed plane is recovering at a Virginia hospital. 47 year old Mark Guthrie of Corolla, is in fair condition at this hour, up from critical, at Norfolk General Hospital. Guthrie was involved in a plane crash Friday morning at the First Flight Airstrip in Kill Devil Hills. Firefighters found a shattered plane on its back at the north end of the airfield with Guthrie hanging upside down in the craft. An investigation is underway to determine what caused the plane to come down.
