Car Crashes Into Home And Starts Fire

Greenville Police say they're preparing to press charges against a teen whose car slammed into a townhouse Sunday night.
Greenville Police say the resulting fire did significant damage to the townhouse at 3921 Sterling Pointe Drive in Winterville in Pitt County. Police say 16-year-old Raphael De'shon Carmon of Winterville lost control speeding around a curve and ended up crashing into the home. This was just after 10 Sunday night. Luckily no one was home, and Carmon went to the hospital after a while to get checked out. Witnesses told police there were other people in the car, but they took off running. Firefighters spent hours putting out the fire.

Tiffany, If he hadn't had crashed into that house and went around the next curve and killed a family member or friend of yours would you still believe he made a mistake?

The police report says 95mph, that is not a mistake that should be forgiven. This was in a 25mph speed zone, most people dont drive 95mph on the interstate. This is not a simple mistake. Chargers should be pressed against him. What if someone had been home?

Anyone driving 90mph in a 25mph zone should have charges pressed against them. He plowed into a living room going 90mph, he would have killed anyone in the room instantly had they been home. A mistake is one thing, but going 70mph over the speed limit is stupidity. I am a friend of the resident, the police said 95mph. 40 or 50 mph is one thing, but 90 in a 25? That is idiotic, for an adult or a minor.

I dont think they should press charges on him. He is just a minor. Every one makes mistakes.
