The American Red Cross blood supply has dwindled so much, a major emergency right here in Eastern Carolina could prove disastrous if more people don't donate blood.
Several area donor locations are down to only a two-day supply of blood, and every blood type is needed, especially "O" negative for trauma surgeries.
But blood isn't the only donation the humanitarian organization needs. They need cash, too, for their disaster relief fund.
