There are differing opinions on whether Dock Watson can get a fair second trial, after his first one ended in a mistrial Tuesday.

The Beaufort County jury deadlocked on the rape and larceny charges against Watson, stemming from a reported rape at Chocowinity Middle School last summer. Jurors we talked with said two of the jurors in the trial knew Watson and were the two holdouts for a unanimous conviction.

WITN asked Beaufort County District Attorney if he thought a fair trail could be had for the accused, even after it was known some jurors knew the victim in this case the first trial.

D.A. Seth Edwards said, "That's just a part of the reality. But at this point for Watson's re-trial, a formal change of venue, or location has not been requested."
