The Greenville Police Department has now released more details about a text alert that went out to ECU students telling them there was an assault off campus early Saturday morning.

The Greenville Police Department has now released more details about a text alert that went out to ECU students telling them there was an assault off campus early Saturday morning.
Police say alcohol was involved and the victim was involved in a fight, but not severely injured.
They say the victim has not been cooperative about describing the suspects.
They also say this incident is not connected to previous assaults that happened last weekend in downtown Greenville.

According to an ECU text alert a student was assaulted off campus early Saturday morning.
The alert says that around 4:25 a.m. a male student reported to the Greenville Police Department that he was attacked near 5th and Holly Street around 3:30 a.m. by several white males.
No further description or direction of travel was given by the victim.
The victim did receive medical assistance.

Perhaps I should not have stated in my previous coment that you need to get it together. It's not the fact that Greenville is to the point where students need to be alerted by text whenever a crime happens. A federal law was passed years ago that requires the campus to notify its community of certain threats that happen to arise, which, in this case, was an assault adjacent to campus. ECU is not the only campus that has a text alert system. I agree with you that the crime rate in Greenville is considerably high. When I went to school here several years ago there was nowhere near the amount incidents that you hear of now, but unfortunately, the thug population has sprouted. And as far as thugs go, there are both black thugs and white thugs. I've seen more than one incident where a white male was jumped by several other white males. And you are right. There will always be a new generation of thugs.
I am black and I have not committed a crime unless you count speeding which more of rule of the road than crime. I know several blacks who have not committed a crime. Go to the crime library like I stated in an earlier post you will see who committs the most crime. DON'T BE TOO SHOCK NOW.
Let me say this. James Richardson is charge with murderer where is he? Locked up. Can't hurt anyone. Phillip charge with murderer premediated. Where is he? Sitting at a friend's house drinking booze and getting drunk or doped up. Just who would you be afraid of? Answer me that.
