Rip Currents Claim Life on OBX

A man died in the Atlantic Ocean over the weekend in Nags Head.

The victim is David Jowett of Sewell, New Jersey. He was boogie boarding with his son-in-law, Tom Street, when Street noticed he was struggling against a rip current.

Rescue lifeguards arrived on the scene to assist the swimmers, but were unable to locate him. Mr. Jowett's body still has not been recovered.
