First off MANDATORY Evac is Not really MANDATORY! You don't have to leave! The news and wackos blew this storm way out of proportion! Nothing even happened down in the OBX! I own a house in Ocean City MD I wouldn't care if the people that rented out that week didn't leave if there was a so called MANDATORY Evac! So please maintenance don't come to OC we don't want your kind here! I don't pay good earned money to leave my vacation!

Most folks dont understand that when renters fail to follow a MANDATORY evac. we have to sit around and wait for you to close up the houses that your leave. The guys worked around the clock checking on, securing, and closing hundereds of homesd, mostly because people would not just follow the rules and help us out. The "i dont care about anyone but me" attitude really makes me not want to see any these folks ever come back. The folks that followed the rules, please come back, you are the sort of folks we want to share the beach with. The folks that delayed leaving your house, if you are too dumb or too inconsiderate to follow some basic rules during an emergency, go find some other beach to screw up.

I chose to leave South Nags Head at 4 a.m. this morning to beat the traffic. I was in an oceanfront house and things weren't looking good. As much as I hated to leave and cut my vacation short, I decided better to be safe than sorry. Hope everybody who chose not to leave stays safe. Good luck and God Bless all of you.
