Charter fishermen are among those who expect to feel the effects of Hurricane Earl.
Charter fishermen we spoke to Tuesday say business has already been slow because of the economy and now they fear they could take another financial hit from Earl.
Some fisherman say they plan to keep their boats in the water as long as they can, and hope tourists return as soon as Earl passes.

One of my friends has been a charter boat captain for 20 years and has his boat docked where he can't go nowhere. Most people wont be able to work these days, including me. Although we are on high ground, My wife and I still would have to go through some low ground prone to flooding to get anywhere out of our neighborhood. To Engine Failure? that's what the coast guard is for.

I feel sorry for the Charter Crews but, guess what, we are all in the same "boat". Everyone is feeling the effects of this weak economy. The Hurricanes are going to cost all of us a lot of money whether it be from taxes for repairing damages or insurance rates going up. The only businesses that make money ahead of a storm are gas stations, grocery stores and home improvement stores.
