Some well dressed women on the Outer Banks are proving that life after fifty is fabulous.

The Red Hat Society is one of the fastest growing clubs in America, and contingents from all across Eastern Carolina came to Kill Devil Hills, to show off their best red and purple get-ups. And seemingly, the more outrageous, the better. According to local red hatters, the group offers fellowship to women who want to relax a little after raising children, and who've led full lives. Most groups meet once or twice a month, usually revolving around a luncheon at an area restaurant. So far, there are at least twelve red hatter clubs up and down the outer banks.

So far, over 30,000 red hat clubs have popped up across the states, with new groups enrolling daily.
