A Weyerhaeuser employee was killed at the mill in Craven County during the early morning hours Thursday.
Weyerhaeuser officials have not pinpointed how 34-year-old Dennis Howard of New Bern was killed as he worked his third shift position. Officials say Howard worked in the sawmill fluff lab as a production technician.
110 employees work at the mill. Officials say it's been nearly ten years since a fatality has happened at the facility.
