They officially broke ground today on what will soon become the new North Carolina State Veterans home in Kinston.
Lieutenant Beverly Perdue joined both state and local leaders in the groundbreaking ceremony. The multi-million dollar facility is slated to house 100 veterans and promises to provide long-term health care.
The North Carolina State Veterans Home is due to open in 2010. Project leaders say the facility will also bring over 100 jobs to Lenoir County.
