WITN's General Manager Honored By National Magazine

WITN's Chris Mossman has been honored as one of Broadcasting & Cable's three general managers of the year.

The magazine spotlights Mossman's "steady hand" during the station's more than 60 continuous hours of Hurricane Irene coverage and the station's fundraising telethon held following the storm. Mossman was quoted as crediting the WITN team members for their dedication.

The station's success in serving advertisers in the market was noted in the article, which also featured quotes from Henry Hinton, president of Inner Banks Media, who spoke of Mossman's love of the community and his willingness to go to the extra mile.

Congratulations Chris!

Congratulations! It couldn't have happened to a better guy. You go the extra mile to make sure that everyone is included and make sure to recognize everyone. Thank you for everything you did and continue to do.

Congratulations Chris! I'm only a little disappointed because he has to share the lime-light with 2 other managers. Having worked for and been a manager for several other media companies over a career in broadcasting spanning 25 years, I can tell you that Chris Mossman is unique in the business. He hires you to do a job and lets you do it, acting more as a mentor than a boss. He truely puts our customers(both viewers and advertisers) first, and operates with complete integrity and fairness. Chris does seem to love eastern NC, and I hope he stays for a long time to come!

Congratulation Chris!!I know you're not one who likes to bask in the limelight or have people dote over you, but we really do appreciate you here and are thankful for your support. I can attest to your dedication during Hurricane Irene. You were there in the newsroom with us, answering phones and checking web comments from people who lost power and only had their smartphones to communicate to us at the station. Thanks for all you do!
