Sacha Baron Cohen ran amuck on the Oscars' red carpet Sunday night, spilling a vase of what he jokingly claimed were ashes on E! host Ryan Seacrest.
Baron Cohen arrived in character for his upcoming film, "The Dictator," in which he plays a kind of Moammar Gadhafi parody. Flanked by two flower girls, he claimed to be carrying the ashes of the late North Korean dictator Kim Jong Il.
He told Seacrest that it was Jong Il's dream to "be sprinkled over the red carpet and over Halle Berry's chest." Then, as Seacrest was bending down, he spilled the ashes over Seacrest's tuxedo.
The E! host smiled as security physically pushed Baron Cohen away. He said: "Anything can happen and it most certainly did, all over my lapel."
