NYC Board: Trump Skipped 21 Years Of Primaries

The New York City Board of Elections says Donald Trump didn't vote in any primary elections for 21 years.

The board says the possible Republican presidential candidate voted in a primary election in the 1989 primary for mayor, then didn't vote in another primary for 21 years. 1989 is when Rudy Giuliani beat businessman Ronald Lauder. Trump also skipped the 2002 general election.

TV station NY1 was the first to report the information.

Trump told the station that it was wrong and he's voted in every general election.

His lawyer Michael Cohen said Saturday that "for one of the greatest international businessmen who travels all over the country and the world, his voting record is very, very good."

The real estate mogul has said he's weighing a 2012 presidential bid.

I hope Trump stays in as long as possible to keep these professional politicians toeing the line of honesty, cuz when Trump speaks people listen. I'm loving to see the scramble of the politicians trying to keep up with him because they have to be so careful with what they say and he doesn't care, he just puts it right out there. Go Donald.

I am a registered Republican but I vote independent, in other words, whoever the heck I think will do the least worst job. Ya'll hate all you want, but I voted Obama and so far I'm favoring Trump for 2012. Why would the general voter CARE he didn't vote in primaries, I don't vote primaries either; they're a bunch of crap, we already know who the establishment wants by the time the primaries come rolling around because it's the guy who got the most news coverage. The Republican National Party hates him because he's not all about the National Party, he's not a team player...and that's not a bad thing to most of us non professional politicians out here. The average American is STILL ticked off and ready to seem some results; ie, jobs, fiscal responsibility; and we expect our leaders to adjust to save Medicare and Social Security for our old people; not wash their hands and say sorry we screwed up because we were a bunch of filthy pigs and spent your money. Call me a RHINO if you want, but I don't get paid by the Republican party, it didn't create my job, in fact, it hasn't done a DANG thing more for me than the Democratic Party has; they are both out for whatever power and influence they can get and I will STILL vote for the person I think is right for the job at the time. I could care less about those filthy national parties and their sneaky aspirations.

why does the left HATE babies so much? First they cheer on abortion by the millions. then they have issues with their socialist muslim releasing his birth certificate. Seems to me that the left HATES anything to do with births.

I would have waited during the debates to produce it. The dumb is that it has always been available, all they had to do was to go and see it.

Trump cant even run a company without bankrupting it. Those are the facts no matter how you make excuses for it. If you can run a company you sure cant run a country. Not to mention, a country shouldn't be run like a business because it isn't one.

Not hard to do that when you're left a sizable portion of a 400 million dollar fortune. And just because you're bankrupt, does not necessairly mean you've got no money whatsoever. That's basically what chapter 11 is. All that aside, it wouldn't surprise me if Donald Trump comitted multiple acts of bankruptcy fraud, it would suit his character well.

  • by Anonymous on Apr 28, 2011 at 07:29 AM
First of all I dont really care where Obama was born, we have plenty of US born citizens who aren't Americans and plenty of Americans who dont vote either. It all falls on beliefs and actions. Basically nobody wants to work for anything anymore and they want it taken from those who do. A majority of the debt comes from keeping the non-working class happy and giving loans to people who obviously cant pay them back has caused it. The Trump "movement" will fizzle out bc there are more aspects to being a president than being a great businessman. All of the "blame it on Bush" people...really ??? News flash the country has always had a debt and no one president caused it, certainly not by himself. Gas prices are still going up and oil is still spilling in the ocean, not to mention unemployment is still rampant and Bush has been gone. Think and be proactive. Vote for who will actually improve our problems bc no single president will be able to resolve them. They didnt happen overnight and will not resolve overnight. Weed out the junk and VOTE for your senators and republicans. Anybody can put anything on the Internet and the press tells what they think will stir you up not always the truth. Have a little pride in yourselves and quit waiting for some magical president to rescue you. Educate yourselves and your children with important information not just who sang at the White House and whose birth certicate was posted or how many times someone voted.

This is taken from the article I attached. Yes, I copied and pasted. Taxing the rich wont solve our problem. "Consider the paltry amount of money we could get from taxing “the rich,” as analyzed by economist Walter Williams: “If Congress imposed a 100 percent tax, taking all earnings above $250,000 per year, it would yield … $1.4 trillion.” If the government took 100 percent of the yearly profits of all the Fortune 500 companies, it would be only $400 billion. If the federal government confiscated all the property of the country’s 400 billionaires (down to their last set of cuff links and children’s baseball mitts), it would yield only $1.3 trillion. And, of course, that would be a one-time collection because after all their of assets were confiscated, the billionaires would be broke. Together, all the “rich” people’s income and assets could not balance the budget for long". http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2011/apr/25/only-the-republican-study-committee-budget-would-s/

The Republicans charge that eliminating these tax breaks on the rich - and returning them to Clinton-era levels -- would be a "job-killing tax hike in the midst of a recession." Let's recall that while the Clinton-era tax rates applied to the rich in the 1990's, the economy created more than 22.5 million jobs in less than eight years-the most jobs ever created under a single administration. Moreover, the Federal deficit had turned into a surplus for as long as the eye could see. The number of private sector jobs created during the Bush years: ZERO. The Republican position amounts to nothing more than baseless pandering to the greed of their many wealthy donors. The Republicans threaten to vote NO for the middle class tax breaks, unless the wealthy were also included. Good job of looking out for the average middle class families.

Was that you first attempt to spin off Clintons successes? Sorry, Newt Gingrich was running the show and balanced the budget. Clinton just signed it. Secondly, do you know the difference between 5.4% and 10% unemployment? Everybody that wanted to work, worked during Bush's terms, everybody that lost their jobs were under Obamas terms. This along with Obamas high price on gas and his new war he started. I know facts cloud your truth, however, they are what they are...

So there were no jobs created during the Bush years? Funny, why wasnt unemployment high then? Why was the housing market at its highest level? Why were stocks at an all time high? Gas prices low? (with the exception of the rise caused by Katrina) It was because of the Republican leadership that Clinton had, that the economy did so well and it wasnt until the Democrats came into the picture during the Bush years that the economy started taking its downward spiral.

the housing market was so high then because bush said everyone deserved to own a house and the thieves came out from every where.
