FBI: Threatening Letter, Powder Found At 'Dancing With The Stars' Studio

An unknown substance in an envelope with a threatening letter delivered to the "Dancing With the Stars" production office at CBS Studios in Los Angeles was determined to be talcum powder.

ABC spokeswoman Amy Astley released a statement confirming that the envelope was delivered to the show's production office on the CBS Studios lot Friday night.

The statement said ABC was later told by Los Angeles fire officials that the substance was talcum powder.

FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller says hazardous materials officials with the city of Los Angeles, LAPD and FBI also responded to the scene. She said an initial screening indicated the substance was not hazardous, but the letter will be transported to a regional lab for further testing, KNBC reported.

She said the FBI and LAPD are investigating.

Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey said firefighters also responded to the scene, but no one was treated for injuries. KCAL-TV reports the powder was found in the mailroom for the ABC show "Dancing With the Stars,'' which is staged on the lot at CBS.

Details of the letter were not revealed.

The FBI would not confirm if any show controversy was behind the unspecified threat, said CBS 2/KCAL 9.

TMZ.com said sources said the powder was in fan mail addressed to teen activist Bristol Palin.

Palin, daughter of former Alaska governor and vice presidential hopeful Sarah Palin, has won viewer votes keeping her on the show despite getting the lowest performance scores from "Dancing With the Stars'' judges, who have praised her improvement over the season.

Singer-actress Brandy was booted off the show last week while the younger Palin was sent on to the finals, which begin Monday night.

The crazy left wing socialist hypocrits are taking this thing far to seriously. Sad thing is, it isn't the lunatic fringe of the left wing, it is the lunatic bulk of the left wing (the democrat party). You nuts give the human race a bad name.

Well, those danged young progressive liberals...they lost on Nov 2nd and hold a grudge. Well, its just like when Bush beat Kerry, I have never heard such sniveling whinning liberals in my life...saying, he cheated, yet they knew nothing about how the electorial college worked. It will even be worse in 2012 when Oblamabush gets thrown out. I am sure whoever gets elected will be accused of cheating. Ya know, they hate to lose.

To liberal hypocrits: Kind of dramatic and far fetched, but I get what you are saying and agree to some point.

Hmmm, well at least this person didn't shoot their TV like the man in Wisconsin did because of Bristol. Do people really get this involved with a "reality" show? What is "real" about it? At least American Idol does bring in unknowns to compete. These are pretty much "has beens" and "hangers on". I've only watched a couple of times for any of the seasons...wanted to see Donny Osmond and Florence Henderson...have watched Jennifer Gray dance and I think she should win....but hey, whatever...I am still not going to vote...by the way.."Vote for the Worst. com" is also supporting Bristol.

Of all the people on the show, I do think Bristol is the most improved; My votes for Jennifer though; has been the whole time. You got to admit she's still got it for her 50's.

liberals are dangerous and not intelligent enough to realize their bleeding heart policies do more harm than good. This type of stupid behavior is expected from liberals and goes unpunished if liberals can help it...double standards like tim geitner.... This country is going down the tubes in large part because the "buy votes/give me free stuff liberals" under the guise of being charitable when really the politicos just use this ploy to get votes and stay in POWER, will ruin this country if not reversed. Go Bristol GO .......I'm afraid for the future of this country because it is ran by TV marketing and the liberal jews who control the media KNOW BRAINWASHING THE IDIOT MASSES OF GENTILES AND MINORITIES we'll assure they will be in control from now on. God help us ; the stupid people out number the smart ones and we are DOOMED because they dont realize the tv marketing is forming their opinions and are created by liberals with an agenda!
