Celebrity Power-Couple Announce Separation

The seemingly perfect marriage of singer-songwriter Seal and supermodel Heidi Klum is heading to an unexpected end.

In a statement Sunday night, the couple announced their separation. They say after "much soul searching" they've decided to separate, and blame the breakup on "growing apart."

The couple has four children together, including the supermodel's daughter from a previous relationship. The couple has asked for privacy and say that the breakup is "amicable."

The singer and model were one of the most high-profile celebrity couples, and often talked about their tight relationship. They even renewed their vows on each of their anniversaries since getting married in 2005.

The "Perfect Couple" I thought it was Elton and his husband? If a good christian heterosexial couple were to split up then they would be labeled old bag and her perferted husband split. After 52 years you knew it would not last. Hollywood people sleep with every co-star and they are the people everyone looks up to.

The man made a great career with his exceptional voice. His facial disfigurement didn't stop him at all. I always admired him for that. He suffered from a childhood ailment, a type of Lupus, that affected his facial skin. Still, he went on to pursue his dreams. Listen to his song, 'Kiss From A Rose', from his first album. She, on the other hand, is just another vain celebrity. When her looks are gone, so she will be.

He was born in Africa, and suffered a childhood illness that disfigured his face; much like Chickenpox or Smallpox can do. He didn't let that stop him, and went on to make some really nice music. I'm glad people's successes don't always depend on their appearances. She may look nice now, but give her another 20 yrs. Looks fade; talent endures.

Thanks for sharing that information, Formerly O.L.I. I knew he had scars on his face, but I didn't know what had caused them. I also didn't know he was born in Africa. Sorry to see them split up; they had seemed so devoted to each other.

He's in remission (which likely means he works hard to stay healthy).. but it doesn't go away unfortunately. I actually have a friend from my support group that has both discoid and systemic lupus. That's very rare and devastating to have two types. You're right about his motivation. It's inspiring. When you lose the luxury of taking a daily routine and simple activities for granted, it's really easy to just not want to do anything ever again. It takes a lot of internal strength to not let that take over and to find new ways to accomplish everything in your life. Maybe some people just don't appreciate music? He has a gift.
