Celebrity Chef Paula Deen Sued

The former general manager of a restaurant co-owned by Paula Deen claims the celebrity chef and her brother created a hostile work environment that included sexual innuendo, physical intimidation and racial slurs.

Lisa Jackson says in a lawsuit filed Monday she had panic attacks because of the environment at Uncle Bubba's Seafood and Oyster House. The restaurant in Savannah is owned by Deen and her brother Bubba Hiers.

Jackson says Hiers routinely watched pornography and that he once violently shook a black employee.

She says the restaurant required black workers to enter through a back door and barred them from using a restroom that white workers used.

A Deen spokesman declined to comment on pending legal matters. Hiers didn't immediately return calls seeking comment.

I'm questioning why this lawsuit is being brought forth by a white woman & not the African American employees that are apparently being mistreated. I personally feel like this is just another stab at Paula. This has been a rough year for her...The woman has been criticized for having Type II diabetes & not releasing the information to the public..for real? LEAVE PAULA ALONE!

I know this is completely off-topic...but speaking as a healthy, normal, red-blooded American male, I find this woman to be INCREDIBLY attractive!! She can come over and cook for me anytime.

The lawsuit includes Paula AND her brother. WITN is a family oriented site and didn't post any blurbs from the lawsuit, but if what's accused is true, she is just terrible and stupid to boot if she didn't think before speaking in front of ANYONE she may have offended. The woman is worth millions! You reap what you sow.

Can you explain or give us a clue why it would take her 5 years to file this claim? I would have walked off that jog, filed my unemployment, which Obama would have extended for 3 years and found me a lawyer immediately. I would have her bucks, soaking up some rays or paying poker in Vegas by now.

Of course I can't explain, I did not file the lawsuit. I also know nothing about the statute of limitations pertaining to this type of issue. It will all come out in the wash. Traumatic incidents are not always immediately addressed as they should be, I do have personal experience in that regard.

I just went to both restaraunts last year. I went to the lady & sons one night, and uncle bubbas the next. To be honest uncle bubbas was wau better than paulas. The staff was much more friendlier, and I complimented the cook who was an older black man who then came outta the kitchen table side and shared his recipe for cajun potaotes with us. None of the employees black, or white seemed that they were being shunned. I saw alot of them as we ate, and the black lady at the dorr potlitely said yall come back now ya hear! All the staff was wonderful our waitress who was white was also very friendly. I think this is just someone looking for $. I will gladly go back to uncle bubbas, and hope it dont get shut down for petty stuff like this!
