Cougars And Carnival Cruise Lines

Carnival Cruise Lines won't be sailing anymore with a boatload of "cougars" and their willing prey.

The Miami-based company has turned down a request from a singles travel group to book another cruise with the cougar theme. The term refers to older women who date younger men.

The singles group says the ban is unfounded. They point to their first cruise on Carnival's Elation in December that drew about 300 women and the men they call "cubs."

Carnival says there were no problems with last month's trip, it's just a business decision. They have no room for groups with that "theme."

Analysts say it's meant to protect Carnival's focus on family fun.

Party planners say they've had no trouble booking with rivals Norwegian and Royal Caribbean.

LOL Chris, I coulda told you that to begin with. Carnival SUCKS. It's always loaded with kids running wild. Oh, they have alcohol on board and such, but they've always been "family oriented" and cater to people with children who still want to vacation on the ocean. It's known as the Disney of cruises. They've had a number of other issues too, so I wouldnt go with them if I were choosing a lines anyway.

Although I personally think there is nothing wrong with a cougar cruise, they need to respect Carnival's business decision. Give the competition your money. They will gladly take it.

Guess Carnival has not seen the ratings for Cougar Town this year. They could of played off that and got the star of the show to book a week with the cruise line.

I guess Carnival Cruise lines doesn't have casinos, or liquor on board anymore. Cause that would not be focused on family fun. NOTE TO SELF: Don't book cruise with Carnival.

What a load of crap! That is complete discrimination and they should be ashamed. You have gay cruises so you aren't that family oriented. Who are you to say that it's wrong for an older woman to date younger men. If they are both okay with it, then you shouldn't care either. This is 2010, not 1956. You need to get a younger person in charge Carnival!

then no one should be booking with these people next it will be another type of group. come on they are not that family focused. look for them to fold in business because someone don't have a clue on making an intelligent business decision
