Longtime NC Furniture Maker Does Sofa For Obamas

A settee that young Sasha and Malia Obama will use in the White House is being made by a longtime North Carolina furniture maker.

Vanguard Furniture had less than a week to make the sofa. The company usually gets about a month to make its custom-ordered furniture.

Last week, master upholsterer Doug Jones put the finishing touches on the sofa made from scratch. Jones has worked 27 years at Vanguard and is excited about having his work in the White House.

The order came from Anthropologie, a high-end retailer accessorizing the White House residence for the soon-to-be first family.

I don't care what all the negative morons say......I am very proud that we have the skilled people in our state to produce something for the White House! Anything to keep our people working in this economy!

I love the fact that some of the most complaining people on here can take the time to do "research so they say" BUT can not take the time to learn how to spell.

I did not vote Obama, he is now my president and deserves the right to make his children confy in the WH. He has a hard row to hoe and will need the backing of all the people. We really need a strong leader and we are all looking to Obama to provide that leadership. We are in a really "crappy" state, hopefully this man, congress and the peoples yankee know how will pull us out of this "crap". A little prayer would not hurt. God bless us all.

Mr.T,That is OK because most of us in this country have not had a President for the past eight years. Now you can do without one for the next eight years. You will be surprised how easy it is to live without a President but I know because I have been there done that. Have a nice night T :)

Democrat for Obama, Obama will never be MY PRESIDENT. I was one of the few intelligent enough NOT to vote for him. In 6 months or a year whan all of you that DID vote for him are whining and crying, I am going to tell you I TOLD YOU SO. Then I am going to tell you I DONT WANT TO HEAR IT. The lost sheep made thier beds, now they will need to lie in them.

Piece of the Obama Pie. What comedy movie that would make? Having Slick Willie in his shorts with a Miller Beer in his hand. Playing hide and seek with his interns at the White House. The sad part is it probably happend?
