Ellen DeGeneres Laments Gay Marriage Ban In California

Ellen DeGeneres says she is "saddened beyond belief" by the passage of a constitutional amendment in California banning gay marriage.

The talk show host said in a statement Wednesday to The Associated Press that she, "like millions of Americans, felt like we had taken a giant step toward equality" by electing Barack Obama as president.

DeGeneres says that with the passage of California's Proposition 8, "we took a giant step away."

DeGeneres wed actress Portia (POR'-shuh) de Rossi in August, following a May Supreme Court decision legalizing same-sex marriage in California.

She contributed $100,000 to fight the amendment on Tuesday's ballot.

DeGeneres asserts she will "continue to speak out for equality for all of us."

If that is an abomination as a person of Christ then toss your stone at me. I am not save by works but by grace. Grace is what God gave me and Grace is what I gave to that man. I didn't care what he might or might not have done in his life. Just as Jesus said...."Feed my sheep". He didn't say feed them rocks, he said feed them with love, compassion and understanding. As a matter of fact he said. What father when his son asks for a loaf of bread gives him a rock instead. Stop being so judgmental and start loving the person and you might get somewhere in understanding them and they might understand you too a little better too. Hate only breeds hate and can never bring about a change out of love. I am glad that I do not go through life hating...even those who hate me without knowing me and judge me without ever speaking to me or trying to understand me. I truly pray for all of you who can't see past hate to see you are talking about someone God created and he created as they are.

I am so tired of hearing the Adam/Steve, Joan/Marie thing. Can't you find something else to state? Abomination? It is an abmoniation to turn your back on your brother in a time of need yet I see it happen all the time in Greenville. A man can sit on the side of the road, stating he is hungry and tons of cars pass him by without even looking. Judging he is a drunk, substance abuser, less than in society and not in need of human compassion. Yet, I as a gay person, with not much income can call that man to my car and give him what I had at the time in my wallet. I did that because that is what God calls us to do..Love one another as we love ourselves. That man was shocked beyond belief. He cried, begged to wash my car. I told him to go get something to eat and he owed me nothing. He lifted his eyes and prayed to God for giving him food for a week. I am blessed to be the person I am and have what I have. To this man, I gave him a million dollars. I did it because it is what Christ would do

Since God has been brought into this, is it safe to say that He called homosexuality an abomination?

Waaaah! Waaah! It's interesting that the Left coasters would ban gay marriage and elect a Prsidential candidate who supports gay marriage.
