When Ben Folds Five takes the stage this weekend in Chapel Hill, the concert will be part reunion, part farewell, and totally sold out.
The 810 tickets for the general public sold out in two minutes.
Another 630 tickets were available for students, who began lining up nearly two days before the tickets went on sale until earlier this month. Those sold out in about two hours.
Saturday's concert marks the first time the trio will play together since they opened for Weezer in Tokyo in 1999. Ben Folds Five disbanded in October 2000 after recording four albums. They didn't realize that the overseas gig would be the band's last.
Ben Folds Five will perform "The Unauthorized Biography of Reinhold Messner," their 1999 release, in its entirety.
