We know he's a phenomenal swimmer, but can he act?
That question will be answered on September 13th as Olympic swimming superstar Michael Phelps steps in front of a live audience to host the season premiere of Saturday Night Live.
This will mark the acting debut of Phelps following his record- shattering performance in Beijing. We know he has nerves of steel in the pool, but stepping out onto the Saturday Night Live stage in Studio 8H in NBC's Rockefeller Center. This time the only thing on the line will be laughs!
Phelps went 8-for-8 in Beijing, breaking Mark Spitz's single-Games Olympic record for the most gold medals won.
Joining Phelps and also making his SNL debut will be hip-hop superstar Lil Wayne. Considered to be one of the best rappers of his generation, Lil Wayne has been one of the biggest music stories of 2008 His sixth album, "Tha Carter III" sold over 1 million copies in its first week of release.
The producers of Saturday Night Live are gearing up to produce four new live shows in a row kicking of with this premiere on Saturday September 13th at 11:30pm.
