An Outer Banks home will take a star turn early next year when they're featured on HGTV's "My House is Worth What?"
Segment producer Nathan Grover said he expects an Outer Banks home to be featured in five segments starting in January or February. The Virginian-Pilot of Norfolk reported that a crew filmed houses in Avon, Buxton, Manteo, Kitty Hawk and Kill Devil Hills earlier this week.
Broker and real estate appraiser Carla Reynolds said she hoped the show will inspire more activity for the island's flagging real estate market.
Reynolds evaluated the market value of the two Hatteras Island houses in Avon and Buxton for the show. She said the average selling price of a Hatteras Island home has dropped 18 percent since 2004.
