Violinist Midori To Perform In NC

Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan -- and Greensboro and Boone?

That's the schedule for world-class violinist Midori, who will perform Saturday with the orchestra of the Eastern Music Festival at Guilford College in Greensboro. She will perform Saturday night with the Festival Orchestra at Appalachian State University in Boone.

The violinist made her historic debut at the age of 11 with the New York Philharmonic's annual New Year's Eve concert in 1982. Since that time, she's established her reputation not only as a world-class violinist, but as a champion of young musicians.

In late May, Midori completed a tour of Japan with the Philadelphia Orchestra and Christoph Eschenbach. In June, her schedule includes performances in Taiwan and Hong Kong.
